Amano We were asked by Amano in London's Southwark to build upon our pointOne EPoS system and Nomad Handheld solution so that it would work in their very unique environment.

Amano is located on Clink Street in London and offers a range of freshly prepared food and excellent coffee for people either on the move or wishing to relax in modern but comfortable surroundings.

Offering freshly prepared food for people on the go required a system that would enable Amano to process orders quickly, and preferably, before they reached the payment point.

The solution offered to Amano to solve this was a handheld system based upon our existing Nomad handheld system which would enable Amano staff to take orders as people queued. As they queue their orders are taken which are processed and sent to printers in their respective areas to be prepared. This is carried out over a wireless network connected to the EPoS system.

As orders are taken outside of a seated area we developed the functionality required to make this work; such as the ability to name the order using the customers surname. This meant that upon arrival at the pay point, the customer can collect his or her food and pay for the goods using their name as a reference for their order.

Best Western Royal Beach Hotel in Portsmouth is enjoying a period of transformation. The elegant Victorian residence was restored to its former charm in 2003 and further enhancements are planned for 2005. Situated just yards from the beach with superb views over the Solent, The Royal Beach Hotel can accommodate up to 280 guests, offers a choice of bars, restaurants, conferencing and banqueting facilities and is ideal for business or pleasure.

With refurbishment a priority, Hotel Manager, Chris Gilmore set about modernising the hotel's existing IT systems and concluded that a professional EPoS (electronic point of sale) system was needed to replace its outdated touchpad tills. Explaining the need for the upgrade Gilmore said "Having the right IT systems in place gives our hotel a far more professional image and it's what our customers expect to see".

After conducting exhaustive reviews the Hotel selected pointOne EpoS from H.I.T Solutions. "The application came out top and unequivocally met all of our specified criteria" said Gilmore. H.I.T Solutions was also able to develop and integrate a module for pointOne EPoS to search and charge guests' food and drinks to their rooms, in conjunction with the hotel's existing front of house Ramesys Innova system.

Finnegans Fish Bar Winners of the ‘Fish & Chip Shop of the year Award 2003’, Finnegan’s Fish Bar is an up-market fish and chip outlet owned by husband and wife team, Huw and Sarah Jones. Previously in the ‘fruit & veg’ trade, the couple spotted an opportunity to provide exceptional quality fish and chips to their local area and established Finnegan’s as a start-up business in August 2001. The business is situated in the heart of a new residential development area in Bridgend, South Wales. The fish bar employs 12 staff and is open 7 days a week. Finnegan’s also has a sister operation in Porthcawl. Since securing its award win, Finnegan’s have enjoyed tremendous success and now sell on average 3 times more fish than its rivals.

Finnegan’s was looking for an electronic ordering system that could replace their touch pad till and requested a demonstration of the pointOne EPoS (electronic point of sale) solution from H.I.T Solutions. Huw and Sarah Jones were immediately impressed with the system and its extensive feature set, and the pointOne EPoS solution was installed in September 2003.

Henley Management College , one of the world's leading colleges in the delivery of management education and development required an EPoS system for a bar which had the ability to charge food and drink to guest accounts stored on their front of house system which was provided by Kinetic Solutions.

By working with Kinetic Solutions, we were able to build a real-time link between the two software applications giving Henley Management College exactly what they needed. In addition to this link, the college also chose to implement pointOne Stock, providing them with realtime reporting and stock control on both goods in and out of the college.

Juboraj Group Voted one of UK's finest Indian restaurants in the 'Best of Britain Awards' 2003, the South Wales based Juboraj Group's Cardiff Lakeside restaurant, conducted an evaluation of EPoS technologies with a view to improving key management processes including stock control, financial reporting, customer loyalty, and most crucially billing and payment capabilities.

By equipping staff at their Lakeside restaurant with H.I.T's Nomad EPoS-enabled handhelds, serving staff can now automatically process every order in front of the customer, and because these are communicated directly with the kitchen, only orders entered into the handheld are processed and prepared for delivery to the table. Because all customer ordering is held electronically, it also means there are fewer disputes over bills, which can be also be split if necessary when there is a large party.

The company plans to roll out the same technology to its other three restaurants in the South Wales region by the end of 2004.

Babru Miah, Group Director of the Juboraj Group said "We are now able to boast an increased customer throughput, a direct result of the Nomad and pointOne Epos technology."

He added, "We are really excited about this new technology. The new system will help us to serve our customers faster, easier and more accurately. We hope to install the system throughout the group by the end of 2004."
